Agreed, Gurren Lagann is definitely one of the new epic animes. I think it rivals this but that may just be me.

You should give Gurren Lagann a shot. I'm a junkie of the classics myself (I don't watch much stuff older than 2003 unless it's like Manga studios or Studio Ghibli), and for some reason I really liked Gurren Lagann. It's full of laughs and tears, and character development is just as important as story and isn't just an afterthought like most animes nowadays.

haha I never caught it on Toonami, the first time I saw it was uncountable years ago on the sci fi channel here in the UK at like 1am with those yellow subtitles you used to get for all the anime shows back in the day.

I also have to disagree on the overrated part, sorry I just assumed since you thought it was overrated cause too many people watch it, forgot to read hhehe.Its one of my personal favorites, its design, its storyline, its grip on your interest and its gritty feel that transitions from Kira's laughter when everything goes according to his plan to how sutle and unexpected the character L is.

No.......How is it personal, Im just stating my opinion that its my anim...well I didnt have any part int he creation but Ill watch what I like.I know its just a opinion like how you said it was overrated.Jeesh..well atleast we can agree on the nge part.

Did you create death note or were somehow part of the production? Because you seemed to take my comment a bit personally.I fail to see how me thinking death note is over-rated is a comment on what anime you should or shouldn't like. And yes I have heard of Neon Genisis Evangelion, it happens to be on my list of favoured anime too ;)
