I'm actually quite fond of the 1st and 3rd games, esp the 1st game. DMC4 however fails on building the series up to be even better, and it does underacheive in that regard. It leaves the series stagnant. Developer region has nothing to do with it, I'd take Ninja Gaiden 2 (Japanese Devs) over DMC4 anyday. Hell, I'd take 7 year old DMC1 and 3 year old DMC3 over DMC4. And Gears Of War kicks much ass btw.

I'm praying to God that the Nero character doesn't become a protagonist mainstay. It seems pointless to play with him when Dante is far more diverse and exciting. I wouldn't mind if Capcom tied Nero into the story a little better, and gave him a spot somewhere in DMC5, but I'm hoping for one main character in the next game (Dante). The best DMC games so far (1 and 3) only have one playable character, and also offer more focused story telling.

It sucked imo, but I guess a better word would be that it underacheived. Lacked any competitive artificial intelligence, (this is a button masher's dream game) and was way too repetitous. *cough same boring bosses cough* DMC4 doesn't come close to recapturing the magic of the first game, (and believe me it tried, most of the enemies are DMC1 enemies) and the gameplay remains largely unchanged from the 3rd game. And why bother introducing a new character who looks and acts like the old one?

How the hell can dmc4 suck. This game was awesome.

No exactly. Your idea is right, but Sparda isn't someone, it's the demons that aren't bad (this is what my friend telled me). |
