Classic Jimmy Webb song but I think part of the problem with this REM cover is that, despite Michael Stipe being about 7 feet tall, it is hard to imagine him getting on a chair to change a living room light bulb let alone at the top of a telegraph pole.

...a lot of their music works very well even when he goes flat - it's part of the REM sound - but this song makes him too naked for the flat sound to work...
