Ramos and Compean are in jail because they shot a person and didn't report the incident to the field inspector and try to hide evidence from the crime scene. They also try to get other officers involved that had nothing to do with the incident. Once the investigaton started other officers turned their back on Ramos and Compeon because they knew what these offices had done was wrong.
